Word Cookies FAQ

Type your pack name into the search box on the homepage, open the pack, then tap your level number. The pack name and level number are shown in the game while you play. Every answers page shows the letter pan at the top, so you can check that the letters match your screen before you read the words.

First compare the letter pan at the top of the page with your cookie pan. If the letters are different you are on the wrong level, usually because a pack name looks similar or the level number is one off. Use the previous and next buttons at the bottom of the page to move between levels. If the letters match but a word is different, the game may have changed that level in an update; tell us on the contact page.

Answers are grouped by word length, from the shortest words to the longest. That matches the way the empty word boxes are laid out in the game, so you can fill the short words first and work up to the longest word.

The site is rebuilt from the game data every time a new version of Word Cookies adds packs, levels or events. The newest pack right now is Curry Puff in the Subtle category. Newly added packs are listed in the New packs section at the top of the homepage.

Open the daily puzzle answers page and tap the Today's puzzle button at the top. It follows the date on your own device, so it always opens the right day for your time zone. Every other day of the year is in the calendar below it.

All seasonal and limited-time events are on the event answers page, grouped by year. We currently have 51 events with 827 levels.

Oven Race and Bake Off levels are not numbered in the game the way regular packs are, so their pages have a letter filter. Open Oven Race or Bake Off, type the letters you see in your pan, and only the matching boards are shown.

Yes. Every answer on this site is free and you do not need an account. The site is paid for by the ads shown on its pages.

Word Cookies is a word puzzle game made by BitMango for Android and iOS. Each level gives you a pan of letter cookies, and you connect the letters to spell words that fill the empty boxes on the screen. When every box is filled, the level is complete.

Slide your finger across the letters in the pan without lifting it, then let go to submit the word. Each letter can be used once per word. If the word is part of the puzzle it drops into its boxes; if it is a valid word that is not part of the puzzle, it counts as a bonus word.

Bonus words are real words you spell from the pan that are not needed to finish the level. They are collected in the cookie jar, and filling the jar gives you free coins. Finding bonus words is one of the easiest ways to earn coins without paying.

The hint button reveals one letter of a word you have not found yet. Hints cost coins, so it is cheaper to shuffle the letters first, or to check the letter pan and word list on this site, before you spend coins.

Shuffle rearranges the letters in the pan. It is free and does not change the answers, but seeing the letters in a new order often helps you spot words you missed.

You earn coins by completing levels and chef categories, by filling the cookie jar with bonus words, and by playing the daily puzzle. Depending on your version, the game may also offer coins for watching an optional video. Coins can also be bought, but you never need to buy them to finish a level.

Levels are grouped into packs that are named after desserts and dishes, such as Butter. Almost every pack has 20 levels. Packs are grouped into chef categories, which work like ranks: you start as a beginner and move up as you finish packs. Most chef categories have 5 packs.

The current game has 34,495 regular levels in 1,727 packs and 346 chef categories. On top of that there are 365 daily puzzles and 827 event levels. New packs are added with game updates.

The newest pack is Curry Puff in the Subtle category. Its last level is level 34,495 counted from the start of the game. BitMango adds new packs over time, so the last level moves forward with each update.

The daily puzzle is a separate level that changes every day and gives a reward when you complete it. Daily puzzles unlock after Milk level 10. There is one puzzle for every day of the year, and you can find each one on the daily puzzle answers page.

Events are limited-time sets of levels, usually themed around holidays and seasons, with their own rewards. Each event is only playable while it runs, but its answers stay on the event answers page.

Oven Race and Bake Off are special game modes with their own puzzle boards, separate from the regular packs. Because the boards are not tied to a pack and level number, the fastest way to find yours is to filter by the letters in your pan on our Oven Race and Bake Off pages.

Word Cookies uses its own word list. Names, places, abbreviations and many rare or offensive words are not in it, so the game rejects them even though they are in a dictionary. Some real words are not needed for the puzzle but are still accepted as bonus words.

Yes, but only on the earliest tutorial levels. The game uses 8 two-letter words in total: AT, BE, MY, NO, ON, SO, UP and WE.

Yes. Word Cookies is free to download on Google Play and the App Store. It shows ads and offers optional in-app purchases, such as coins and ad removal.

There is no official Windows version. You can play the Android version on a PC with an Android emulator, and Macs with Apple silicon can usually install the iPhone and iPad version from the Mac App Store.

Progress is saved on your device. If your version of the game has a sign-in or cloud save option in its settings, connect it before you switch phones so you can restore your progress. Without it, reinstalling the game starts again from the first level.

Regular levels can usually be played offline. Features such as events, daily rewards, videos for coins and saving your progress online need a connection.

Look for common endings first: -ED, -ER, -ING, -EST and a final S. Then try common starts such as RE-, UN- and DE-. Once you have an ending, the remaining letters are much easier to arrange.

Almost always. 94.6% of levels (32,625 of 34,495) have at least one answer that uses every letter in the pan, so it is worth looking for that word early: it often unlocks several shorter words too.

Start with short words. 4-letter words are the most common answers in the game, making up 43.9% of every word slot. Filling them in first reveals letters in the longer boxes and gives you hints for free.

The ten most common answers in the game are GIN, SEE, IRE, RED, LIE, ORE, LED, END, GAIN and ERR. GIN alone appears on 3,143 levels, so try these whenever their letters are in your pan.

Try adding S to words you already found, swap the vowels in a word you know, and press shuffle to see the letters in a new order. If you are still stuck, open the level on this site and read only the word length you need, so the rest of the level stays a challenge.

The game has 346 chef categories, 1,727 packs and 34,495 regular levels. Across every level there are 663,425 words to find, and 20,601 different words in total.

A level asks for 19.2 words on average. The smallest levels have only 2 answers; the busiest have 34.

3 levels share the minimum of 2 words. They are all early tutorial levels:

• Butter level 1: GYM + MY
• Butter level 2: CUP + UP
• Oatmeal level 1: WIND + WIN

727 levels ask for 34 words, the most in the game. The first ones are:

• Coconut level 4: ACERSSV
• Coconut level 9: EOPRSW
• Yogurt level 4: ACCERSU

The longest answers are 9 letters long, for example ACQUITTED, AUTOMAKER, BALLOONED, BULLDOZER and COMPELLED.

GIN appears on 3,143 levels, more than any other answer. At the other end, 2,278 words appear on only one level each.

Pans have between 3 and 9 letters. The most common pan has 7 letters, used on 15,287 levels. The letters that appear most often are E, I, R, N, A, S, L and O.

The rarest letters in the pans are Q, J, Z and X. Most levels never use them.

1,723 packs have 20 levels. The exceptions are early packs with fewer levels: Butter (5), Oatmeal (5), Ginger (10) and Milk (15).

Snapper Veracruz and Wild Mushroom Risotto tie for the most words of any pack, with 502 words across their 20 levels.

345 of the 346 chef categories have 5 packs. Home Baker has 2: Butter and Oatmeal.
